The town naturally started with a boom. With Delano as the terminus of the railroad to the south, it became the headquarters for hundreds of workmen who were building the railroad into town, and who eventually built the railroad into Bakersfield the following year. Meanwhile, the merchandise that formerly was trucked south from Visalia to Bakersfield and then to Walker Pass, or perhaps Tejon Pass, en route to Los Angeles, now coming via freight from the south, east and west, was likewise trucked in by ox or mule team. Great loads of bullion were delivered here from the mines in the mountains. Delano became the northern terminus for the passenger stages that ran south to Bakersfield and Los Angeles. The fare from Bakersfield to Delano was $7.00 a trip.

Choosing the Right Drug Testing Panel

Drug testing panels, which determine the number of substances screened, often take the form of 5-panel, 10-panel, or 12-panel tests. Customized screenings are also available.

Understanding Drug Tests

A drug test involves the analysis of biological samples like urine, hair, blood, breath, sweat, or saliva to determine the presence of specific drugs or their metabolites. Drug tests are pivotal in detecting performance-enhancing steroids in sports, screening for prohibited drugs at workplaces or probation settings, and measuring blood alcohol content (BAC) through breathalyzers or urinalysis. Various testing methods exist, offering different levels of accuracy, sensitivity, and detection timeframes. Some tests even offer quantitative chemical analysis for responsible drug use guidance.

Impact of Passive Smoke on Marijuana Test Results

The notion of passive smoke causing a marijuana false positive is unsubstantiated, as laboratory cut-off concentrations are set high above what could result from secondhand inhalation.

Other anomalies in urine tests, potentially indicating false negatives or sample adulteration, include:

  • Low creatinine levels may indicate sample tampering, possibly through excessive fluid consumption or water added to the sample.
  • Creatinine levels are checked alongside specific gravity to detect dilution. Laboratories may dye toilet water blue to prevent sample dilution from it.
  • Attempts to stabilize samples with enzymes may alter the urine pH, which is also tested.

Drug Metabolism and Detection Timeframes

The detection window of drug tests varies based on several factors, including:

  • The drug amount consumed
  • Frequency of use
  • Type of drug
  • An individual's metabolism and overall health
  • Fluid intake post-consumption
  • Physical activity post-consumption
  • Genetic factors influencing drug response
